Mansion Taxes is a trading name of SGS Ltd, PO Box 565, Guernsey GY1 6JW. SGS Ltd is responsible for the personal information collected through this website. You can contact us about privacy through the contact form.
What we collect
- What you enter in our forms: your name, email address and phone number, and details about the property and its ownership, including your estimate of its value.
- If you are an adviser referring a client, your details and an outline of your client's position. Please do not send us your client's name or address until they have agreed.
- If you allow analytics cookies, information about how the site is used, collected by Google Analytics, such as the pages visited, the device used and the approximate area you visit from.
The band calculator runs in your browser. What you type into it is not sent to us unless you go on to send the review form. Google Analytics records only which band it showed.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and, if you ask us to, to carry out a review. We rely on your request and on our legitimate interest in responding to it.
- To keep records of the work we do, as a professional firm must.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it, only where you have allowed analytics cookies. We rely on your consent for this.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing unrelated to your enquiry.
Who we share it with
With the tax adviser and property surveyor who work with us on a review, only where you have asked for one. With our IT and hosting providers, who process it on our behalf, and with Google, which provides Google Analytics, if you allow analytics cookies. We will not share it with anyone else without asking you first, unless the law requires it.
Cookies
The site sets Google Analytics cookies, named _ga and _ga_ followed by a code, only if you choose Allow analytics in the cookie bar. They show us which pages are used and how people find the site, and can last up to two years. If you choose No thanks, no analytics cookies are set.
Your choice is remembered in your browser so we do not ask again on every page. You can change it at any time with Cookie settings at the foot of every page.
The band calculator also keeps what you typed in your browser for the current visit, so the consultation form can be filled in for you. It is cleared when you close the tab and is only sent to us if you send the form.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a review are kept for up to two years and then deleted. Records of reviews are kept for as long as we need them for professional and legal purposes.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it or stop using it. Contact us through the contact form. You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Authority in Guernsey or, in the UK, to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes
We will post any changes to this notice on this page.
